IP Traffic Encryption
End-to-end encryption for data in transit between sites, data centres and cloud — every packet on the wire protected, keys managed properly, and throughput measured so security does not cost you performance.
The problem this solves
Many private circuits are assumed to be secure simply because they are private. In reality traffic often crosses shared carrier infrastructure unencrypted, and the tunnels that do exist use stale keys, weak ciphers or undocumented exceptions. This engagement maps every inter-site path and puts consistent, auditable encryption on all of it.
Who it is for
- Organizations sending sensitive data across carrier circuits, MPLS or the public internet
- Regulated teams that must evidence encryption in transit for audits
- Businesses linking data centres or cloud regions with replication traffic
- IT leads who inherited ad-hoc VPN tunnels with unknown key hygiene
Not the right fit if
- You only need a remote-access VPN for a few laptops
- You need a full Zero Trust programme (we can scope that separately)
What is included — scope of work
Path & data-flow mapping
Every site-to-site, site-to-cloud and data-centre interconnect path identified, with the data classes that travel over each.
Encryption architecture
Choice of IPsec, MACsec or encrypted overlay per path, cipher suites, key lifetimes and certificate strategy.
Key management
Certificate authority or key-management design, rotation schedule and revocation procedure.
Deployment
Tunnel and policy configuration on your edge devices or dedicated encryptors, staged per path.
Performance validation
Throughput and latency tests before and after encryption so overhead is known and acceptable.
Managed operations
Monthly tunnel health monitoring, key rotation, certificate renewals and change requests under the $1,500/mo plan.
Deliverables
- Data-flow and path inventory
- Encryption architecture and cipher policy
- Key and certificate management procedure
- Configured tunnels and policies
- Before/after performance report
- Audit-ready evidence pack (configs, cipher policy, rotation logs)
- Monthly tunnel health and key-rotation report
How it works

Encryption rolled out path by path with rollback.Validate
Performance and failover tests.Operate
Monthly monitoring, rotations and reporting.
How the pricing works
The $8,500 project fee covers mapping, design and deployment for up to six encrypted paths. The $1,500/mo managed component covers monitoring, key rotation, certificate renewal and routine changes for those paths. Dedicated encryption hardware, if required, is purchased by you. Additional paths are quoted before work starts. See all Network & Infrastructure Services.
Frequently asked questions
Will encryption slow our links?
There is always some overhead. We measure it before and after and choose methods and hardware that keep it within agreed limits.
Can we do the project without the monthly plan?
The monthly plan exists because unmanaged keys are the most common reason encryption fails later. If you have a team ready to own rotation, we can discuss a project-only handoff.
Does this make us compliant?
It provides evidence of encryption in transit, which is one control among many. It does not on its own certify compliance with any framework.
Do you publish client results?
Gridwise is a newly launched practice and does not publish testimonials or case studies. Your evidence pack documents exactly what was deployed.
What about edge security and DDoS protection?
Those are separate controls (edge security, WAF & DDoS). We can include them in a broader scope if needed.

What we need from you
- A named technical contact with authority to approve changes
- Current network diagrams, device inventory or whatever documentation exists, however incomplete
- Read-only access to network devices and monitoring tools during discovery
- Carrier and circuit contract details, including renewal dates
- Agreed change windows for any work that touches production
How Gridwise works
Written scope before work starts. Every engagement begins with a written scope, deliverables list and fixed price or monthly fee. Nothing is billed outside that scope without your written approval.
Vendor-neutral advice. Gridwise does not take commissions from hardware, carrier, cloud or software vendors, so recommendations follow your requirements rather than a sales target.
You own the outputs. Designs, configurations, documentation and code produced for you are yours to keep and use with any provider.
Honest about where we are. Gridwise Technology is a newly launched practice. We do not publish testimonials, client logos or case studies, and we will not invent them. What we offer instead is a clear process, written acceptance criteria and documented results for your own environment.
What happens after you apply
Your application goes straight to the Gridwise team, not to a sales queue. Within one business day we reply by email with either a short list of clarifying questions or a proposal for a scoping conversation. If the engagement looks like a fit, we send a written scope that lists the work, the deliverables, the timeline, the fixed price or monthly fee, and the assumptions it depends on. Nothing starts and nothing is billed until you have reviewed and approved that document. If we are not the right partner for what you need, we will say so plainly and, where we can, point you toward a better option.
